Claire Desmarais is a Queer writer and producer with over a decade of entertainment industry experience. Her work in film and television follows a career producing live music and comedy, and a childhood in performing arts. She’s a proven purveyor of memorable experiences from the stage and screen, passionate about telling highly entertaining stories that matter. 

 

Claire has acquired a wealth of production expertise working as an Assistant Director, which she applies to her writing and producing. She has worked on over thirty productions across a variety of genres, ranging from micro-budget student shorts to multi-million dollar feature films and series. She is a proud member of the Director’s Guild of Canada - Ontario and Women in Film + TV - Toronto.  

 

She has been professionally trained in screenwriting through The Second City and Script Anatomy. She is also an alumus of the Canadian Film Centre Norman Jewison Film Program Producer’s Lab, Canada’s leading incubator for the next generation of creative professionals and industry leaders.
